INFO
Palm of Feronia Gua Sha is an ancient self-treatment method used in traditional Chinese medicine. It involves stroking the skin with the Gua Sha tool to redirect energy flow to release stagnant energy, increase circulation and stimulate the lymphatic system to promote the body's natural healing process. It's a simple yet rigorous technique that has been used for centuries to treat a range of ailments including fever, muscle pain and tension, inflammation, chronic cough, sinus infections and migraines.
Studies have shown that this daily ritual improves blood circulation by up to 400 percent, promotes collagen formation and combats pigment spots, dark circles and puffy eyes.
Our gua sha comes in a small drawstring pouch that includes a gua sha instruction card and green moss agate description card. Each Gua Sha is hand carved, so there may be slight differences in shape and size. Because Green Moss Agate is such a diverse and interesting stone, the color and pattern of each Gua Sha is unique. It is a stone with natural "veins" which may appear like cracks but are internal to the stone and are a natural part of the pattern.

PREPARATION & TIPS
Thoroughly cleanse and moisturize skin before applying facial oil to your face and neck. Oil and, with the remaining oil in your hands, heat the Gua Sha tool and begin with deep, cleansing breaths. Include Gua Sha daily as part of your self care practice. The pressure is important - pay attention to it as you perform it and listen to your body. Keep the movements gentle and light when working on the lymph fluid and firmer to work on the muscles. Stop if it feels uncomfortable. Swipe each area between 3 and 10 times. Hold the tool almost flat against the skin (as opposed to at a 90 degree angle). Once the gua sha starts to rub, add more oil. Avoid using the Gua Sha over acne, open wounds or cysts.
APPLICATION
Swipe up both sides of the neck before gently stroking the Adam's apple - an energetic sweep to activate the REN line (a channel that collects the body's yin energy and treats issues in the abdomen, cheeks, neck, face and head treated). Stroke from the shoulders up the nape of the neck, pressing firmly to release tension. Then stroke under the chin from the center of the face to the earlobe, holding the tool flat and using your thumb to pinch the skin under the chin while pulling the gua sha in the opposite direction. Sweep from the center of the chin, under the jawline, and back to the earlobe. Gently wiggle the ear to encourage drainage down the neck to the lymph nodes. Sweep below the cheekbone towards the hairline and move the tool back and forth along the hairline again to drain the liquid. Now sweep over the cheekbones and end at the hairline. Then gently stroke under the eyes from the inner eye to the hairline. Then over the eyebrow outwards to the hairline and from the brow down over the forehead. Do this in 4-5 sections along the eyebrow. Sweep from the center of the eyebrows across the third eye up to the hairline. Sweep outwards from the center of the forehead to the hairline. Do this process on the opposite side of your face, again starting at the neck and sweeping up to the forehead. When you've worked both sides, finish by rubbing down the neck to aid in drainage. Hold the tool flat and run down the neck to the collarbone.
