When Stella McCartney founded her own label in 2001 and offered a plant-based alternative to genuine leather with bags, shoes and clothing made from vegan leather, she was ridiculed by many industry colleagues. A lot has happened since then: In recent years, new materials such as pineapple, rhubarb, olive or mushroom leather have been researched and more environmentally friendly production and tanning processes have been developed. But the big highlight is still that it has to feel comfortable on the skin. Here we have put together products for you that you would not believe are not leather.
