scent
Mixed Emotions, a gender neutral (epicener*) fragrance that reflects the turbulent nature of our times. Based on the Byredo philosophy of translating fragments of memories and abstract ideas into fragrances, Mixed Emotions draws an olfactory sketch of our current, collective state of mind. Pleasant notes of mate and the sharp sweetness of cassis are embedded in a woody frame; the soothing scent of black tea is broken up by synthetic violet leaves.
Family: Woody
Top note: mate, black currant
Heart note: Ceylon black tea, violet leaves
Base note: birch wood, papyrus

Ben Gorham
Born in Sweden to an Indian mother and Canadian father, Ben grew up in Toronto, New York and Stockholm. He graduated from Stockholm Art School with a degree in Fine Arts, but a chance encounter with perfumer Pierre Wulff convinced him that he wanted to create fragrances rather than paintings. With no formal training in the field, Gorham, aged 31, sought the services of world-renowned perfumers Olivia Giacobetti and Jerome Epinette, explaining his olfactory desires to them and letting them create the compositions. As an outsider in the beauty industry, Ben is something of an anomaly and has been featured in several international magazines such as French Vogue, Vanity Fair, Elle, V Magazine and Fantastic Man to name a few for his personal style and connection to fashion and art , accepted.
